Yeti PRO 4000 General Troubleshooting

General Troubleshooting

  • Confirm Power Status - Confirm that the Master Power Button is clicked into the "ON" position (pressed in). This should be done when the unit appears unresponsive to any button presses and the display is blank. If the unit is taking an input, the display will only show the input power and the SOC portions of the screen.
  • Power Cycling (Ol' Reliable) - Ensure that the Yeti is not charging from any sources, or that there are no inputs applied to any of the input ports. While the Master Power Button is in the ON position, click it into the OFF position, then wait ~ 30 seconds. Once 30 seconds have passed, click the Master Power Button back into the ON position. This is a hard reset of most electronics inside of the Yeti, and should be done in all issues related to potential bugs with inputs, outputs, or display/UI.
  • Confirm Unit is on the latest Firmware - Have the customer check the firmware version installed. This is to ensure not only that they are running the latest and greatest firmware available, but that the issue they are experiencing has not been fixed via a firmware update already. Firmware versions, and their details, can be found on the change history page. The firmware version can be checked either by by cycling through the Display Menu following this guide, or by going on the Goal Zero App.
  • Internal Reset - While the Yeti unit is on, hold down the PAIR button on the back unit and the LIGHT button on the display simultaneously for ~ 3 seconds. You should see the display lights/segments blip off and then back on as confirmation that the Internal Reset was successful. This should be done in the event that all previous forms of troubleshooting have been unsuccessful so far.
  • Factory Reset - The last resort to issues related to inputs, outputs, or the UI/Display; this will wipe out any settings, saved states, paired devices from the Yeti unit's memory, and restore default settings essentially reverting the Yeti unit to it's pre-used state. The firmware version will remain what it was at the time of initiating the factory reset. This can be done in the Display Menu located on the Yeti unit itself, with plans to add this capability to a future version of the Goal Zero App.
