Tank Issues?
-
Reset Tank Address(es) - Hold down the Function button on the back of the Tank Unit(s) you wish to perform the address reset on while the Tank unit is switched into the ON position. This will essentially clear and restart the communication between the Tank and the Yeti units. If this doesn't appear to fix related issues, the settings button on the Yeti display can be held down for ~10 seconds until a beep is heard to clear these addresses from the Yeti's side. This should be done when:
- The Tank units appear to not be equalizing or balancing their state of charge to match the Yeti units.
- The Tank units appear to not be matching the state of charge of the Yeti units during charges/discharges.
- The Yeti unit/Goal Zero app do not show any indications of a Tank after a Tank has been connected and turned on.
- The Tank units do not appear to have updated with the Yeti unit during a firmware update.
-
Confirm Tank Communication and Firmware - Using the Yeti Display Menu, cycle to Device Info submenu and confirm that the tank is on the list of detected submodules. Once this has been confirmed, ensure that the Tank is on the latest firmware version and matches the Yeti's BMS firmware version.
- If the BMS and Tank firmware versions DO NOT match, or are not on the latest version, then attempt an update while paired with the GZ app. Or:
- Force a Firmware Update - If the Yeti attempts and fails to update—or if you need to manually update from the Yeti itself—ensure it is connected to a 2.4 GHz network with internet access. Press and hold down the PAIR button for 10 seconds. After the Yeti beeps a second time, let go of the button; the Yeti will then attempt an update.
